About the Society

Our Mission

The Cadogan Cemeteries Society is steadfastly committed to the restoration, preservation, and perpetual care of the historical cemetery serving Cadogan, Alberta, and its surrounding region. We believe that caring for the resting places of our ancestors is a profound civic duty and a vital educational endeavor.

Our Vision

We envision a community where regional history is honored and physically sustained. Through our meticulous maintenance of gravesites and archival preservation of burial records, we offer families, historians, and future generations a tangible connection to the area’s pioneer roots.

Our Board and Volunteers

Volunteer archival work

The Society is guided by a dedicated volunteer board composed of local residents, descendants of pioneer families, and history enthusiasts. We have no paid administrative staff; every effort given to the cemetery is an act of volunteerism motivated by deep respect for our community's heritage.

Our board oversees the coordination of seasonal maintenance, the long-term strategic preservation plan for aging monuments, and the painstaking process of digitizing and maintaining historical interment records for public genealogical access.
