Burial Records & Genealogy Research
Preserving Family Histories
One of the core mandates of the Cadogan Cemeteries Society is the rigorous preservation of historical burial records. We understand that cemetery records are a critical tool for genealogists, historians, and families seeking to map their lineage and connect with their forebears.
Types of Records Maintained
- Interment Logs: Chronological records of burials containing dates, names, and available demographic data.
- Plot Maps: Detailed schematics of the cemetery layout, allowing for precise location of historic graves.
- Monument Transcriptions: Text recorded from aging or damaged headstones to preserve the information before environmental wear renders them illegible.
How to Request an Archival Search
Due to the fragile nature of some physical archives, our records are centrally managed by our society volunteers. We gladly assist individuals in their historical and genealogical research at no cost.
To request a search of our burial records or to locate a specific plot, please submit a formal inquiry to our archives team. We kindly ask that you provide as much identifying information as possible, such as full names, approximate dates of birth and death, and relation to early pioneer families.
